The strongest lil girl...

When you think your life is (or in my case WAS) so bad, you see another sort of pain that can be so much worst. Life with out Chris, not knowing if he was safe, knowing that night and day he was being shot at, other obstacles that are specific to his MOS, and the pain of having my other half taken from me was a very terrible experience. People say over and over its the Army, you signed up for it! Well, I certainly didn't. He had joined just a few days before I met him and I had no say at all in this decision. But the army is the army, and Chris did come back to me. It was hard and I, or that is, WE made it! Please don't miss understand me. I respect the army because my short and temporary pain is a minor cost for something worth so much more. Besides, being in the army isn't really all that bad. There is something to be said about the pride of being a soldiers wife. Lets also not neglect the fact the Chris LOVES what he does. He is a natural at his job, and now he is in a position to train and teach up coming Military Intelligence Soldiers. He's a natural patriot and I PICKED him.

The last few days have made the pain of a deployment seem so small and trite. Maybe I wouldn't feel that way if Chris was still deployed. But he is home and safe. Now I have moved beyond MYSELF and to those that surround me. We recently just moved to Eagle Mountain and gained many new and friendly neighbors. One of our neighbors just lost her lil girl to brain cancer. I barley new this women but my heart breaks for her pain. I don't even want to process the extremely raw pain that this mother must feel. The thought of knowing your child is terminally ill, that her days have been numbered, and there is nothing you can do but hold on to her and the last few minutes that you have with her. This is something I feel that no mother is meant to feel and no child is meant to go through! Next to loosing Chris, I couldn't imagine anything worse! But this lil girl has an amazingly strong spirit and her parents are equally amazing. They are people to aspire too. I am attaching Sadie's blog address. I only do, because the address was posted in the newspaper so I know it wasn't meant to be private. This blog tells an amazing story of the strongest lil girl that I knew for the shortest amount of time! http://sadiehuish.blogspot.com/

I need to thank my sister in law, the owner of this jumpa-roo, for loaning it to AnaLea. This provides hours of entertainment and gives mommies sore arms a break!

Happy Fathers Day to my Father...

Faithful Father
Brian Doerksen

Father, I can’t explain this kind of love
this kind of grace
I know, I still break your heart and yet you run
to welcome me
This is my song of praise to You
For who you are and all that you do
From the moment my life began
You have been faithful
Father, I love the way you hold me close
and say my name
I know, when my life is through
my heart will find it’s home in You
This is our song of praise to You
For who you are and all that you do
From before the world began
You have been faithful
You will be faithful
forever faithful
Father

Happy Fathers Day to my MISTER....

Mister, we miss and love you so much! Words cant explain the loneliness in my heart. I fill lonelier now then before I met you. Because now I know exactly what my heart is missing. And my heart breaks, when I see the lil things that our lil goose does. The things you miss because you love her so much. She has much to be grateful for. Your are protecting the most precious gift you can give her. You are protecting her freedom. I wish you could rap your strong arms around her and just hold her. I would give anything to see that again! Next year is too far away!
The little girl in this poem has a similar name to our lil girl. This poem really hits home for me. Just read it. You will understand!
Father's Day Poem
Anna's Song©
By Anna R. Sanders
Oh, where is my daddy?
I'm sure you must ask.
Does your lonely heart look
For the shadows I cast?
Do you stand at the door
And look to the drive?
Do little hands on the window ask
Will he arrive?
When you sit at the table
And look to my seat,
Do you wonder inside
If we'll ever re-meet?
Does your heart know the voice
Of the man you can't see?
Do your eyes know my picture,
Do you know that it's me?
It's been quite a while now
Almost half your life.
I'm sorry sweet Anna
To cause you this strife.
I hope you'll forgive me
For leaving your side.
I wanted to hold you
Those nights that you've cried.
May I have this next dance?
Are they playing our song?
For I am the daddy
For which your heart longs.

Parents...

I have two favorite authors. One, Victor Hugo, and the other is Mitch Albom. Both authors have a profound view of life. I recently finished Mitch Albom's "For One More Day." It's a story about a boy and his mother. I have read this story four times now. I wanted to post a quote from this book in honor of my father and mother, and my mother in law.

"I believed my mother (father) saved my life. I
also believe that parents, if they love you, will hold you up safely, above the swirling waters, and sometimes that means you will never know what they endured, and you may treat them unkindly, in a way you other wise wouldn't. But there is a story behind every thing. How a picture got on the wall. How a scar got on your face. Sometimes the stories are simple, and sometimes they are hard and heartbreaking. But behind all your stories is your mothers (and fathers) story, because hers is where yours begins."
I just wanted to thank my parents and my mothert in law for all that you did for me this weekend. You guys where life savors!

The Happy Hat...

My wonderful sister is a nurse. She came over to my parents house today, very excited because she got to, what the hospital calls, "Scrubbing in." Which means that she got to assist in an operation. Hooray for Tamani! This is a big step for her. She was so very excited to share the news with the family. The nurse that worked with her gave her this hat. It's the Happy Hat. Ironically, it's on the Happy Girls Head. This girl has one amazingly optimistic attitude toward life. To me, it seems that her life's goal is to make others happy. This picture reminds me of her...you always wonder what she will do next. She gets the Happy Bear Award!
